Cuddly Pup

Hi everyone! Meet Butch (later on called “Butchoy) a very happy and loving Golden Retriever. His been with the family for 10 months now and just turned one year old last May 30, 2011.
Before I even let you know Butch little further, I will tell you the reason why we decided to have a dog in the house.

Last July of 2010, robbers broke in the apartment that we were renting around 2:30 am in the morning.  We were totally caught off guard since we have lived safely at the apartment for a year. Experienced no commotion or problems prior to this incident in that location. Our neighbors were really accommodating and friendly.

As we were fast asleep in our beds 3 robbers sneaked in our house and forced the glass window to open. They managed to get a netbook, knife and even my slipper (it’s not even an expensive slipper!). They also got our car keys and opened the car to get the car stereo however they forgot to shut off the alarm while opening the car (which was their big mistake). My dad happened to hear the commotion and woke up. The robbers were fast to notice that my dad was awake due to the car alarm, they ran off with our car keys. Two days later we found our car keys at our neighbor’s yard since that same day that we got robbed they were also robbed by those same bandits.

Basically that’s the main reason why we decided to have a pet dog at the house. After the incident, we searched the Sunday ads for pets. We even asked our friends about the best guard dog to get and what type of breed. It actually took us some time to decide on what breed. Then my sister decided she wants to have a rottie(Rottweiler) or a golden retriever in the house. Golden retriever? Guard Dog? She must be kidding!

Well, aside from the rottie that we saw on the ads we were also somewhat interested in the Golden Retriever. Even though the Golden is not the best option for a Guard dog but something lured us to see the Golden first.
While we went out on a Sunday morning, we decided to check the Golden Retriever fist and then the Rottie. When we came to the breeder’s house she introduced us to the pups that she advertised on the papers. We saw two cuddly, charming and very handsome pups playing inside the cage.

My initial reaction was “OMG! They are so cute! I want to get one! Can we have him?”. Really they are so easy to fell in love with! They really are one adorable breed. We really fell in love with the puppy and forgot that we have to check out the Rottie as well. My dad and sister decided that we will have a Golden instead of a Rottie. Guard Dog? Nah! He ain’t a guard dog but he sure is cute!
